Marialva is located a few minutes from the town of Mêda. This village, in a setting that reveals one of the living relics of Portuguese ancestors, transports the visitor to the deepest roots of the country's history. The streets, lined with buildings that stand the test of time, lead to the citadel along the ramparts, in whose ruins it is easy to lose track of time. Inhabited by the Aravos, a Lusitanian people, it was later conquered by the Romans, followed by the Arabs, until the final victory of Ferdinand the Great in 1063, in his emblematic conquest of the Beiras.
