Kootenay Rockies Tourism Association (KRTA) is a non-profit, stakeholder-based Regional Destination Management Organization representing over 800 tourism businesses and operators. Sustainability is integral to the Kootenay Rockies region. Many visitors come to experience unparalleled natural beauty from our rugged mountainous landscapes to our rushing lakes and rivers. We will continue our sustainability journey by sharing resources for stakeholders to support the Biosphere sustainability objectives, educate our visitors by providing responsible travel materials and measuring our carbon footprint. We will continue to collect data to determine how best to improve our sustainability contributions as a destination and encourage our partners to begin their own journey.
